The technical foundation of Xelee relies on the existing Melee decompilation, ensuring the original mechanics remain intact. However, the integration of mixed reality features represents a departure from standard emulation. According to the developers, the entire codebase for these spatial functions was authored by Claude, highlighting the increasing role of AI in bridging legacy software with modern hardware interfaces. This implementation invites a broader conversation regarding how developers might eventually adapt dormant or classic titles for augmented reality platforms without needing to rebuild the underlying engines from scratch.
