Capcom Confirms Data Breach Affecting 11 Million Accounts
Eleven million email addresses linked to Capcom ID accounts have been compromised following a security breach discovered on October 19. While the scale of the exposure is significant, the company maintains that the incident primarily affected contact identifiers rather than high-security financial or authentication data.

The investigation into the unauthorized access revealed that the damage remained contained to specific user details. Although the volume of exposed email addresses is extensive, Capcom reported that only 43 accounts suffered a broader compromise involving dates of birth, genders, countries, and nicknames. Furthermore, the company noted that 196 passwords were reset in response to the event, though no actual password databases were leaked during the intrusion. The company continues to monitor systems to ensure no further unauthorized activity occurs.
