The Browser Company to Discontinue Arc on December 22
The Browser Company confirmed the end of its flagship Arc browser, setting a final cutoff for December 22. After pivoting development resources toward its AI-centric successor, Dia, the firm is initiating a phased shutdown that strips away account creation and core syncing features long before the final software sunset.

The transition begins immediately, as the company has blocked the creation of new user accounts. By November 23, the mobile experience will degrade significantly; both iOS and Android versions will lose essential AI-driven tools, such as the Browse for Me feature, alongside the ability to sign in or sync active tabs. When the December deadline arrives, the desktop applications for macOS and Windows will cease to function entirely, and Arc Search will be pulled from the Google Play store.
Users looking to preserve their history and bookmarks are directed to the company’s internal migration tools, which facilitate data imports into Dia. According to the company, this new project now commands the entirety of its engineering and security resources, marking a definitive shift away from the legacy browser architecture.
