Since its founding in 2019, Activate has scaled from a single local venue to a network of over 85 global locations. The company’s growth is driven by proprietary technology that integrates physical movement with digital gaming, utilizing RFID wristbands and real-time scoring to track player performance. This model has attracted more than 14 million players, fostering a competitive environment through features like Team Mode and the Activate Global League.

CEO and co-founder Adam Schmidt attributed the company's success to a relentless focus on blending physical activity with digital innovation. To qualify for the Deloitte recognition, Activate met rigorous criteria, including maintaining a minimum of $5 million in 2025 revenue and dedicating at least 5% of gross income to R&D conducted within Canada. As a recipient of this award, the company is now eligible for the broader Deloitte North American Technology Fast 500.
