Redtail Technology Faces Class Action Over Alleged Labor Code Violations

A class action lawsuit filed in Sacramento County Superior Court accuses Redtail Technology, Inc. of systematically denying employees mandatory meal and rest periods. The complaint, brought by Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP, alleges the company also failed to reimburse staff for mandatory work-related use of personal cell phones.

The litigation, indexed as Case No. 26CV022766, claims that Redtail employees were frequently denied thirty-minute off-duty meal breaks and required to work shifts exceeding five hours without relief. The suit further alleges that the company failed to provide a second meal break during ten-hour shifts and engaged in rounding practices to circumvent penalty payments for missed breaks. Beyond meal and rest period infractions, the filing asserts a violation of California Labor Code § 2802. Plaintiffs contend they were required to utilize personal mobile devices for job duties without receiving required indemnification or reimbursement for these costs.
