The Verge launches ad-free podcast feeds for subscribers
The Verge has officially rolled out ad-free listening for subscribers, allowing users to strip commercials from popular shows like Decoder, Version History, and The Vergecast. This premium feature integrates directly with major podcast platforms, requiring a manual setup process for each individual show in the listener's library.
To activate the service, subscribers must log in to their account settings at theverge.com/account/podcasts. From there, selecting the "set up" option next to a specific podcast generates a link or QR code compatible with Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube Music, Overcast, Pocket Casts, and several other third-party players. Once connected, a dedicated premium feed will appear in the user’s app, replacing the standard version.
Listeners should remove their previous subscription to the ad-supported feed to avoid duplicate episodes. While the initial rollout covers the publication's three flagship programs, the company confirmed that future shows will automatically join the ad-free catalog. Anyone encountering technical hurdles during the authentication process can consult the site’s FAQ or contact the support team via subscriptions@theverge.com.
