Drawing inspiration from the rhythmic motion of the sea, Citizen is launching its inaugural Moana-themed timepiece. The design arrives as a strategic tie-in for the upcoming film, blending the watchmaker’s proprietary light-powered technology with intricate, ocean-inspired aesthetics that aim to capture the character’s connection to the natural world.
The watch features a 36mm gold-tone stainless steel case set against a deep teal leather strap. Its dial serves as the centerpiece, utilizing mother-of-pearl and crystal accents to mimic the way sunlight plays across the surface of the water. This release marks another chapter in Citizen’s ongoing collaboration with Disney, focusing on storytelling through materiality rather than simple logo placement.
Technically, the piece relies on Citizen’s Eco-Drive system, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026.
