SEI Upgrades Investment Platform with AI-Driven Data Tools

The new architecture aims to eliminate the friction inherent in manual data reconciliation. By integrating Fenergo’s CLM platform, SEI is streamlining AML and KYC onboarding processes while adding automated waterfall calculation tools that allow managers to model distribution scenarios against live fund data. These enhancements are intended to shift the focus of investment professionals from repetitive administrative tasks toward strategic advisory and client engagement.

Beyond internal platform upgrades, SEI is leveraging a strategic partnership with IBM to integrate agentic AI across its alternative fund accounting and investor servicing units. The company has also introduced SEI Access for CITs, an automated onboarding system that digitizes application workflows. Phil McCabe, head of the firm's investment managers business, noted that the objective is to move clients toward continuous insight while maintaining strict governance, ensuring firms can scale operations without sacrificing oversight or service quality.
