Guardian integrates XP Health platform to modernize vision care benefits

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is expanding its employee benefits ecosystem through a partnership with XP Health, introducing a digital-first vision care platform. The collaboration aims to simplify routine eye exams and eyewear procurement for workers across 26 states by offering transparent pricing and virtual try-on tools.

The initiative addresses a gap in preventive health engagement, as internal data suggests only 40% of full-time employees consistently maintain routine medical visits. By incorporating XP Health’s digital tools, Guardian intends to lower barriers to eye care through online prescription renewals and streamlined appointment scheduling. The platform includes access to a nationwide network of providers and discounted brand-name frames, alongside annual allowances for both glasses and contact lenses.

Jill Purcell, head of dental and vision product management at Guardian, noted that the move aligns with a broader strategy to offer simplicity and digital engagement in workplace benefits. This integration complements Guardian’s existing suite of wellness resources, which already includes support services for fertility, cancer care, and virtual wellness classes. XP Health, which maintains a network of over 100,000 provider combinations, currently serves more than 500,000 members, with plans to expand the availability of these vision services as the partnership matures.
