Caracal Academy Raises Record $97,000 for Student Scholarships
A record $97,000 flowed into the Caracal Academy scholarship fund this week as 22 teams gathered at the Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg, Virginia. The annual tournament, now in its third year, bolsters the organization's mission to provide mentorship and financial support to high-potential young leaders aged 18 to 25.

The fundraiser marks a significant milestone for the academy, which operates under the umbrella of Caracal Products & Services. This year’s event celebrated the graduation of the program's first two four-year scholarship recipients: Madison Snyder, who earned a nursing degree from Moravian University, and Marcus Jeter Jr., a construction science and management graduate from Tuskegee University. Both students were part of the academy's second cohort, which began their studies during the 2022–2023 academic year.
Chuck Ellis, Chairman of the Board, noted that the turnout reflects growing community momentum behind the initiative. For recipients like Snyder and Jeter, the financial backing served as more than just tuition assistance; they described it as a vital reduction of stress that allowed them to focus on professional development and academic excellence. The academy, supported by partners including Taylor Corporation and White Hawk Retail Solutions LLC, continues to expand its reach in providing resources for young entrepreneurs and students pursuing careers in various sectors.
