San Antonio real estate leader J.J. Gorena is shifting his focus to a new platform, taking the helm of The Local: Lone Star Living. The series, produced by the REAL Shows Network, aims to capture the city’s identity by weaving together neighborhood spotlights, local business profiles, and human-interest storytelling.
Gorena brings seven years of broadcast experience to the new project, having previously served as a host on The American Dream TV. He describes his role as that of a digital mayor, tasked with promoting the city to potential residents and visitors alike. The production team behind the show, which holds Emmy and Telly awards, provides a 30-minute window for each episode to explore San Antonio’s cultural and economic landscape.
Beyond showcasing high-end properties, the series dedicates significant airtime to nonprofits and community organizations. By focusing on the people and entrepreneurs who define the city, the network aims to move away from standard real estate listings toward a more narrative-driven format. The program is currently available for streaming on the REAL Shows Network platform.
