GigSafe Acquires Transcompss to Tighten Compliance in Regulated Logistics

Following the Supreme Court’s May 2026 ruling in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport, liability for negligent hiring has become a critical board-level concern. Austin-based GigSafe is responding to this pressure by acquiring Transcompss, aiming to integrate specialized HazMat and Life Sciences training directly into its logistics compliance infrastructure.

The acquisition merges GigSafe’s automated systems for credentialing, insurance verification, and contractor payments with the deep regulatory expertise of Transcompss. By embedding quality management systems and specialized certification programs into a single platform, the companies intend to move clients beyond basic checkbox compliance toward a more rigorous operational culture. This integration is designed to address the specific needs of medical couriers, pharmaceutical delivery networks, and hazardous material transporters who face heightened scrutiny.

Existing Transcompss training records remain fully accessible, and pricing for current services will stay consistent during the transition. Mark Fries, founder of Transcompss, joins the GigSafe team alongside other compliance experts like Eric Donaldson and Heath Smith. According to GigSafe CEO David Pickerell, this move shifts the perception of compliance from a necessary cost to a competitive advantage, allowing logistics operators to maintain more reliable and work-ready contractor networks.
