Shane Homes Expands Canadian Craftsmanship to Texas Market

After 47 years of building in Canada, Shane Homes has officially planted roots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The family-owned firm is testing the North Texas market with a distinct strategy: offering structural floor plan flexibility at production builder prices to compete with established local developers.

The company’s U.S. debut centers on the Park Hills development in Rockwall, situated near Harry Myers Park, with a secondary project underway at Gideon Grove. By targeting the Rockwall Independent School District, the builder aims to attract families looking for proximity to Dallas via I-30. Dave Rickett, President of Shane Homes Dallas, claims the firm intends to shift local expectations by prioritizing direct communication and high-level customization.

Central to their entry is the "Love It or Customize It" program, which permits buyers to move walls, relocate kitchens, or expand footprints before construction begins. These structural changes are paired with features often reserved for custom builds, such as 2-by-6 exterior wall construction and eight-foot solid-core doors. With 13 floor plans ranging from 2,500 to over 4,000 square feet, the homes are priced between the mid-$500,000s and upper $800,000s. The firm, which has completed over 16,000 homes since its inception in 1979, operates its primary model home at 310 Shadow Ridge Road.
