Tomokazu Seki Joins Kagurabachi Anime Cast as Kunishige Rokuhira
Veteran voice actor Tomokazu Seki will portray the legendary swordsmith Kunishige Rokuhira in the upcoming anime adaptation of Kagurabachi. The production team confirmed the casting alongside a new character visual and trailer, marking a significant milestone for the series as it prepares for a global premiere tour throughout summer 2026.

The anime, based on Takeru Hokazono’s flagship Weekly Shonen Jump series, has already garnered massive momentum with a circulation exceeding 4 million copies. Studio Cypic is leading the production, assembling a high-profile staff including director Tetsuya Takeuchi and character designer Keigo Sasaki. The protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira, will be voiced by Taihi Kimura, who previously earned the Best New Actor award at the 2025 Seiyu Awards.
Seki described his approach to the role as a balance between the character’s jovial, warmhearted nature and the heavy burden of his convictions as a master smith. "I am doing my best to convey the manga's passion in a way that only anime can," Seki noted, summarizing the series' core appeal as a "spirit passed down." The story follows Chihiro’s quest for vengeance after his father, the only man capable of forging the world-altering Enchanted Blades, is killed by the Hishaku organization.
Fans will get their first look at the adaptation during an extensive world tour. The premiere screening of the first 20 minutes of Episode 1 is scheduled for Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 3, followed by presentations at Japan Expo in Paris, AnimagiC in Mannheim, and Anime NYC. The series is slated for a full broadcast release in April 2027.
