Adidas Enters Safety Footwear Market with ADIDAS PRO WORK Collection
Adidas is pivoting into the industrial sector with the launch of ADIDAS PRO WORK, a professional safety footwear line developed alongside GLO Brands B.V. The collection aims to bring athletic aesthetics and ergonomic performance to heavy-duty environments, including manufacturing, logistics, and transportation, starting this August across European markets.
The range addresses a shifting demand for PPE that balances industrial-grade protection with the comfort and style of consumer sportswear. According to Lauren Mooney, General Manager of GLO, the initiative responds to workers who already favor the brand for personal use and sought similar design standards for their professional gear. The collection includes dedicated models shaped specifically for women to ensure a more precise, supportive fit.
Technically, the footwear is engineered for versatility across varied surfaces and conditions. The shoes are metal-free and ESD-certified, utilizing fiberglass toecaps and textile anti-penetration insoles to maintain a lightweight profile. To combat fatigue during long shifts, the design integrates EVA cushioning midsoles and a Pressure Equalizer feature meant to relieve strain during kneeling or crouching. Pricing for the new range is set between €100 and €150.
