Eric Jorgensen Named CEO of GovTech Firm AstreaX
With over two decades of experience navigating the complexities of state government, Eric Jorgensen has been appointed CEO of AstreaX, a subsidiary of Michael Baker International. He is tasked with scaling the company’s digital identity and citizen-centric platforms as public agencies scramble to modernize their legacy systems.

Jorgensen moves into the top spot after serving as the digital government practice lead at Michael Baker International. His background includes a decade-long tenure as director of the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division, where he spearheaded one of the country's most significant DMV modernization projects. This transition signals a strategic push by the parent firm to integrate its massive engineering and infrastructure footprint with agile software solutions.
The company’s flagship product, the MAX platform, currently serves as the backbone for driver and vehicle services across several U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions. Under Jorgensen’s leadership, AstreaX plans to expand this ecosystem to include more mobile-first tools, such as the AX Wallet, aimed at replacing fragmented digital environments with unified, secure portals. By blending deep public sector insight with scalable cloud technology, the firm aims to address the growing demand for government services that mirror the speed and security of private-sector digital experiences.
