Govee Transforms Living Rooms into Westeros for House of the Dragon

As the third season of HBO’s House of the Dragon unfolds, smart lighting manufacturer Govee is bridging the gap between screen and sofa. The company has debuted a series of themed lighting scenes and app interfaces designed to synchronize real-time ambient colors with the show’s signature fire and shadow aesthetic.

The collaboration utilizes Govee’s TV Backlight series, which employs camera-based color-matching to extend on-screen visuals onto surrounding walls. By leveraging a 4MP dual-camera sensor, the system captures the subtle gradients of the show’s low-light cinematography, allowing amber glows from dragonfire or deep crimsons from Targaryen banners to spill directly into the viewer's space.

To facilitate this immersion, Govee introduced three curated light profiles: "Dracarys," "Fire & Blood," and "Green Reign." These scenes are accessible across the Govee Home ecosystem, which now includes a themed interface skin. The integration is compatible with the company's full TV Backlight 3 lineup, ranging from the entry-level Lite version to the flagship Pro model, which features a triple-camera HDR engine for enhanced shadow depth. These features aim to maintain the visual intensity of the eight-episode season, which premiered June 21 on HBO and HBO Max.
