Kung Fu Tea Launches High-End 'Select' Brand in New York
Two new Manhattan and Flushing storefronts will debut on June 26 as Kung Fu Tea pivots toward a ritualistic, craft-focused tea experience. The expansion marks a return to the company’s roots in New York, where the bubble tea giant first launched its operations sixteen years ago.

Select by Kung Fu Tea arrives at 73 Chrystie Street in Chinatown and within the New World Mall in Flushing. While the parent company operates over 350 locations nationwide, this new sub-brand focuses on rare tea varietals, such as Wuyi rock tea and Long Jing green tea, rather than traditional bubble tea. The menu also includes an Italian-style espresso program infused with ingredients like black sesame and osmanthus.
"We wanted to take everything Kung Fu Tea stands for and push it further," said COO Steve Luw. To mark the opening, the company is offering a buy-one-get-one-free promotion throughout the debut weekend. Early visitors will receive curated gift bags containing items from Levain Bakery and custom tea-scented candles, signaling an effort to position the brand as a lifestyle-oriented sensory experience.
