The deal brings Jose D. "JD" Gonzalez, a veteran of the industry and current Chairman of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America, into the Imperative fold. By joining the company as Vice President of National Accounts, Gonzalez will oversee the firm's strategic growth in international services while continuing to serve his existing client base. His firm, established in 1994, has long been regarded for navigating the complexities of North American import and export regulations.

Dante Fornari, CEO of Imperative Logistics, noted that the integration of Gonzalez's team is designed to bolster support for clients facing increasingly intricate global trade environments. For customers of the acquired firm, the transition promises an expanded suite of transportation solutions and logistics resources without disruption to their current service teams. This move effectively combines Imperative’s existing portfolio—which includes expedite services and mission-critical logistics—with the deep regulatory knowledge that defined the Jose D. Gonzalez practice for over three decades.
