Frontera and Kupari Launch Sale of Piedras Verdes Copper Mine
With global copper demand surging alongside the transition to electrification, Frontera Copper Corporation and Kupari Investments Ltd. have officially initiated a strategic sale process for the Piedras Verdes mine complex. The owners are targeting a premium valuation for the established site, citing its immediate production capacity and regional infrastructure advantages.

Located in the mining-friendly state of Sonora, Mexico, the Piedras Verdes complex represents a high-value asset in a market currently constrained by supply shortages and lengthy development timelines for new projects. The joint owners have appointed BMO Capital Markets to lead the sale, with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP serving as legal counsel.
BMO Capital Markets has begun outreach to prospective buyers. Interested parties will gain access to a confidential data room once formal non-disclosure agreements are executed. For the current operators, the move is a strategic play to capture significant proceeds from a mature, performing asset while handing off a site that offers both existing commercial production and clear expansion potential for the next owner.
