Starbucks Breaks Ground at Russell Centre in Kentucky
The coffee giant has officially begun construction on a new site at Russell Centre, a move that reinforces the retail hub’s standing within the Tri-State market. This expansion adds a high-traffic anchor to the development, which is already anchored by major national players Kroger and Lowe’s Home Improvement.

The construction site sits within a dominant retail corridor that serves the greater Russell and Ashland area. Robert Saggese, a senior leasing representative with RD Management, noted that the arrival of the coffee chain serves as a testament to the center’s ability to attract top-tier brands. The project aims to leverage the consistent consumer flow already generated by existing anchor tenants to drive further foot traffic for surrounding businesses.
Beyond the new construction, the center is actively pursuing additional retail and restaurant partners. Available inventory includes in-line spaces, outparcel developments, and ground lease sites. As the development continues to expand, management expects the addition to solidify the location as a primary destination for regional shoppers and local residents alike.
