The company reached a 90% renewable share of its total energy consumption in 2025, utilizing renewable energy certificates to cover 100% of its Scope 2 electricity needs. These environmental gains are anchored by the evolution of the firm's Global Reference Design (GRD), a standardized architectural blueprint that integrates energy-efficient systems and lower-carbon materials into new developments. The design targets an annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) below 1.2, supported by closed-loop liquid cooling systems that minimize water consumption.

Beyond energy metrics, the operator received TRUE Zero Waste certification at sites in London, Tokyo, and Osaka. Operational efficiency remains a focal point as the company scales its portfolio, which currently includes 15 active data centers and 12 additional sites under development across the UK, Europe, and the APAC region. Anthea van Scherpenzeel, Head of Environmental Sustainability, noted that whole-life carbon assessments are now central to the company’s procurement strategy as it tracks progress toward its 2045 net-zero target. The firm also reported a global PUE of 1.41 while securing ISO 27001 and 14001 certifications across its primary markets.
