Meijer Slashing Prices on Summer Staples for July 4th
Midwest retailer Meijer is cutting prices on more than 100 private-label grocery essentials by up to 50 percent through July 7. The promotion, timed to coincide with the nation’s 250th birthday celebrations, targets core cookout items ranging from charcoal and paper napkins to hot dog buns and s'mores supplies.

The discounts include staples such as pasta salad kits at $0.89, marshmallows for $1, and chicken sausage priced at $4.99. According to Don Sanderson, the company’s Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer, the initiative aims to provide value for families gathering during the summer holiday. Shoppers can access the full list of markdowns directly through the retailer's website.
Beyond grocery discounts, the company is rolling out a "Pump up the Points" promotion for its mPerks loyalty program. Starting June 26, customers can earn quadruple points on specific brands, which are redeemable for in-store savings or fuel discounts of up to $1 per gallon at Meijer Express stations. The mPerks program, which has operated for over 15 years, currently offers users access to more than $1,000 in potential weekly savings via the company's mobile app.
