Deckorators Opens $77 Million Manufacturing Plant in Lackawanna
A ribbon-cutting ceremony in suburban Buffalo marked the official opening of Deckorators' first Northeast manufacturing facility on June 25, 2026. The 253,310-square-foot plant represents a $77 million investment by the UFP Industries subsidiary, designed to double production capacity for the company's proprietary Surestone decking line.

The new facility, located at 300 Commerce Drive, adds 50 full-time jobs to the Lackawanna workforce. By repurposing an existing structure and adding a 19,000-square-foot expansion, the company has secured space for current manufacturing needs and future growth via an 85,000-square-foot on-site warehouse. The expansion focuses on the brand's mineral-based Surestone technology, which is engineered to resist common PVC cracking while improving traction.
Support for the project included $724,000 in tax credits through the Excelsior Jobs Program and $1.82 million in local tax incentives from the Erie County Industrial Development Agency. Ryan Kemp, executive vice president at Deckorators, noted that the Buffalo-area site was chosen to bolster support for retail partners and meet the rising demand for high-performance decking products like the Voyage and Summit lines.
