The facility welcomed 632,441 passengers in May alone, maintaining a steady upward trajectory despite shifting domestic demand. International routes proved to be the primary engine for this momentum, with nearly 300,000 travelers choosing the airport for overseas transit so far this year. Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, attributed the resilience to the airport's focused strategy of serving local communities and airline partners, noting that the robust international numbers highlight the strength of the Southern California market.

Market dominance in May remained concentrated among five major carriers. Southwest Airlines led the field with a 35.7% share, followed by American Airlines at 14.0%, Delta Air Lines at 10.9%, Frontier Airlines at 10.1%, and Alaska Airlines at 10.0%. Beyond passenger travel, the airport continued to solidify its status as a logistics hub. Cargo operations saw a 4.7% increase in May, with freight tonnage climbing 8.2% to surpass 63,000 tons. Year-to-date, total cargo volume has risen 7.4%, keeping the airport firmly ranked among the top 10 cargo facilities in the United States.
