Blue Moon Metals Reports High-Grade Samples from Utah Apex Mine
Blue Moon Metals has confirmed significant concentrations of germanium, gallium, and copper from its inaugural bulk sample at the Apex mine in Utah. The results, showing 0.180% germanium, 0.0273% gallium, and 1.96% copper, follow the company’s acquisition of the site from a Teck Resources subsidiary earlier this year.

The 100kg sample, processed by the independent laboratory Blue Coast Research Ltd., provides a technical foundation for upcoming metallurgical testing. Blue Moon intends to use these data to design a commercial flowsheet while evaluating near-term revenue opportunities. Driven by rising spot prices for germanium and gallium, the company is actively exploring the sale of direct shipping ore (DSO).
Management is currently engaged in permitting efforts with a target for completion by the second quarter of 2027. Preliminary discussions with potential mining contractors are underway, aiming to initiate operations as early as the third quarter of 2027. At a projected mining rate of 150 tons per day, the company estimates that the Apex project could satisfy nearly 100% of current domestic germanium demand. These efforts remain subject to regulatory approvals and the successful finalization of commercial agreements.
