MidWest America FCU Overhauls Lending Operations with Algebrik AI

MidWest America Federal Credit Union, a $1 billion financial institution, has selected Algebrik One to unify its lending lifecycle. By integrating point-of-sale, loan origination, and decisioning into a single cloud-native platform, the credit union aims to eliminate operational friction and capture a younger generation of members.

The move signals a strategic pivot for the Fort Wayne-based institution, which serves over 51,000 members. Rather than settling for incremental digital updates, MidWest America sought to replace disjointed systems that often force loan officers to navigate multiple interfaces. By centralizing these functions, the credit union intends to reduce the high abandonment rates common in modern digital lending, where 60 to 70 percent of applications are dropped mid-flow due to complex, manual processes.

Shad Edwards, Chief Lending Officer at MidWest America, noted that the goal is to shift staff focus from administrative navigation to high-value member service. The platform automates data validation and eligibility checks in real-time, routing only exceptions for human review. This architecture allows the institution to scale operations without increasing complexity, ensuring more predictable outcomes for both the credit union and its borrowers.
