Corteva Names Board for Vylor Spin-Off Ahead of 2026 Launch
Karen Grimes will serve as independent chair for Vylor, the forthcoming genetics and seed company set to emerge from Corteva Inc. The selection of the seven-member board marks a significant milestone in the planned separation, which remains on track to finalize during the fourth quarter of 2026.

Grimes, a former senior managing director at Wellington Management, brings governance experience from her tenure on the boards of Corteva and Toll Brothers. She will oversee a diverse group of directors, including future Vylor CEO Chuck Magro and executives from companies such as Procter & Gamble, Deere & Company, and Merck & Co. The company is actively searching for at least one additional board member to round out the leadership team.
Vylor aims to anchor its market position in advanced germplasm and biotech, focusing on gene editing and molecular breeding to expand its reach into new row crops. By leveraging established distribution channels and increasing its focus on licensing, the firm intends to scale its agricultural innovations. Corteva officials confirmed that the leadership structure is designed to accelerate growth and drive shareholder value as the new entity prepares for its independent debut.
