UK Trade Remedies Authority

The UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) is investigating whether new trade remedies are needed to prevent damage to British industry caused by unfair trade practices and unforeseen import surges. These remedies usually take the form of additional duties on such imports. His work helps to create a level playing field for British industry.

As part of the work required to create a UK-specific system of trade remedies outside the European Union, the TRA is also conducting reviews of the transition to existing EU trade remedies measures that affect UK industries. Its reviews will check whether the measures taken are right for the UK or what changes may be required.

Mission:

Protection of the UK's economic interests from unfair international trade practices.

The TRA is a body located at arm's length from the Department of International Trade.
