Commvault Debuts Hands-On Simulation for AI-Driven Cyberattacks
The window between vulnerability discovery and active exploitation has shrunk to just 29 minutes, a 65% acceleration compared to the previous year. To combat this heightened threat landscape, Commvault has launched a new interactive simulation, Minutes to Recovery, designed to stress-test enterprise defense and recovery capabilities against Frontier AI tools.

The two-hour, onsite sessions challenge IT and security teams to navigate the full lifecycle of a digital breach. Participants first assume the role of an attacker, utilizing AI-driven tools to execute sophisticated, personalized phishing campaigns and target backup infrastructures. By experiencing the speed of modern threats firsthand, teams gain critical insights into how AI-accelerated breaches behave before they encounter them in real-world scenarios.
Following the offensive phase, participants shift roles to act as defenders and recovery experts. Under intense time constraints and incomplete data, teams must make real-time decisions to detect, isolate, and restore systems to a verified clean state. This process identifies technical weaknesses that traditional paper-based recovery plans often overlook, providing a tangible Mean Time to Clean Recovery benchmark. Available in six languages, the program is also being extended to Commvault’s global partner network, allowing organizations like Kyndryl to facilitate these strategic resilience discussions directly with their customers.
