Raytheon-led Omnia Training Wins £2bn British Army Contract
The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded a £2bn contract to Omnia Training, a consortium led by Raytheon UK, to overhaul the British Army’s collective training infrastructure. The 15-year partnership aims to modernize combat readiness through a shift toward digital, synthetic, and data-driven environments for soldiers across the service.

The consortium, which includes Capita, Cervus, Rheinmetall UK, and Skyral, will implement the Army Collective Training System (ACTS) to replace traditional live-only exercises. By integrating virtual and synthetic platforms, the system allows for immersive, adversarial training scenarios that can be deployed regardless of physical location. This move represents a significant pivot toward high-tech, data-heavy preparation for modern warfare.
James Gray, managing director of Raytheon UK, described the initiative as a way to provide commanders with unprecedented levels of realism. The project is expected to generate 270 new jobs while sustaining an additional 150 roles across the UK supply chain. The partner organizations, who have operated as a co-located team for two years, will leverage their existing workforce of 1,500 personnel to deliver the transformation.
