Edgewise Therapeutics Sells Muscular Dystrophy Portfolio to Servier
Edgewise Therapeutics has finalized the sale of its sevasemten program and muscular dystrophy business to the international pharmaceutical group Servier for $1.55 billion in upfront cash. The deal, which includes potential milestone payments totaling $1.1 billion, marks a definitive pivot for the company toward its cardiovascular drug pipeline.

The transaction provides Edgewise with the capital necessary to accelerate development of its core cardiovascular assets, specifically EDG-7500 and EDG-15400. Company leadership indicated that the proceeds are expected to fully fund the clinical progression of EDG-7500 through potential regulatory approval. To maintain continuity for the muscular dystrophy program, a core group of Edgewise employees supporting sevasemten will transition to the French-based Servier.
Following the divestiture, Edgewise is focusing its resources on its remaining pipeline. The company plans to initiate a Phase 3 trial for EDG-7500 in the fourth quarter of 2026, building on positive data from recent Phase 2 studies in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Meanwhile, Servier gains ownership of a late-stage therapy for Becker and Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a portfolio that has already secured Orphan Drug and Fast Track designations from the FDA. The acquisition aligns with Servier’s long-term expansion into rare neurological diseases.
