C1Secure Debuts ServiceNow-Native SmartRAMP 20x for Federal Compliance

Cloud service providers face a radical shift in federal security standards as C1Secure launches SmartRAMP 20x, a platform designed to automate compliance under the government’s new FedRAMP 20x model. By moving from static document reviews to continuous, evidence-based verification, the tool aims to slash certification timelines and costs significantly.

The legacy FedRAMP process often demanded up to $1 million and over a year of effort, relying on agency sponsorship and heavy documentation. FedRAMP 20x dismantles these barriers by eliminating the sponsor requirement and shifting the focus toward 46 Key Security Indicators. C1Secure’s new platform integrates directly into the ServiceNow AI environment, allowing providers to treat certification as a continuous operational state rather than a periodic hurdle.

For federal agencies, the platform offers a live view of a vendor’s security posture through the ServiceNow Continuous Authorization and Monitoring workflow. When evidence gaps emerge, the system automatically triggers remediation tasks within the existing infrastructure. According to CEO Tom Thomson, the goal is to replace annual paperwork drills with daily, verifiable security outcomes. COO JJ Contessa added that because the platform operates within the user’s existing risk management framework, it provides a comprehensive view of security that isolated point solutions cannot match. The software is slated for release on the ServiceNow Store, with future updates planned to include AI-assisted drift detection and executive reporting tools.
