Tulsi Gabbard Resigns as Director of National Intelligence
"Good riddance," Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) remarked Friday following the resignation of Tulsi Gabbard from her post as Director of National Intelligence. The departure marks the end of her tenure within President Donald Trump’s second administration, a role that had drawn sharp criticism from legislative peers since its inception.
Gabbard stepped down from the high-ranking security position late this week, concluding a controversial period of service in the White House. Her appointment had previously sparked intense debate among lawmakers regarding her qualifications and political history. Beyer, representing Virginia’s 8th district, offered a blunt assessment of the exit, stating that Gabbard should never have held the director role in the first place. The administration has not yet announced a successor for the intelligence chief position.
