Ninja enters the microwave market with a hybrid air fryer
Ninja is expanding its kitchen appliance empire with the $449 Crispi, a 1,000-watt microwave that pivots to air frying to solve the perennial problem of soggy leftovers. By ditching the traditional rotating turntable for a flatbed design, the device attempts to reclaim valuable counter space while upgrading reheating performance.
The Crispi microwave features a flatbed interior that increases usable cooking surface by 40 percent, allowing users to heat multiple dishes or large items that would typically stall on a conventional spinning plate. Beyond standard presets for popcorn and defrosting, the unit incorporates a 5.5-quart glass container designed for air frying. Once the microwave cycle finishes, the system switches to superheated air reaching up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, utilizing a circulation insert to achieve a crisp finish.
SharkNinja has positioned the appliance as a multi-purpose tool for kitchens crowded by standalone gadgets. The design prioritizes ease of cleaning and capacity, accommodating four bowls simultaneously or two bags of popcorn. The unit is available for purchase starting today through the company's online store.
