POLYTECH Expands Microthane Breast Implant Portfolio
Following certification from its Notified Body, Germany-based POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics is rolling out its full Microthane implant range to global markets. The expansion provides surgeons with a choice between the company’s standard EasyFit gel and the lightweight B-Lite technology, aiming to enhance stability in reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.

The Microthane surface features an updated manufacturing process designed to create a flat posterior surface and a smooth edge transition. By pairing this surface with either standard or lightweight gels, the company offers clinicians the ability to tailor implants to specific patient requirements. The B-Lite integration is particularly notable for weight reduction, weighing up to 30% less than conventional silicone implants of equivalent volume, which helps minimize mechanical stress on surrounding tissues.
Clinical data indicates that this combination may improve long-term outcomes, with published studies noting lower rates of capsular contracture and reoperation in reconstructive cases. Prof. Dr. Karsten Hemmrich, CEO of POLYTECH, described the release as a key step in providing surgeons with tools that support predictable results. Based in Dieburg, the company continues to focus on manufacturing precision and scientific collaboration to advance breast surgery standards across its network of more than 90 countries.
