SUNON Launches ErP 2026-Ready EC Fans for AI Infrastructure
As global data centers pivot toward high-density computing, SUNON has released its Green EC Fan series to meet the European Union's upcoming ErP 2026 energy efficiency mandates. The new hardware integrates advanced telemetry and high-voltage support, designed to bridge the gap between current cooling needs and future 800VDC architectures.
The new fan series incorporates Modbus-RTU communication and PWM speed control, allowing host systems to perform dynamic power allocation based on real-time thermal loads. This granular energy tracking is intended to help enterprises minimize idle power waste in environments ranging from high-performance computing clusters to renewable energy sites. To facilitate global deployment, the units feature intelligent auto-sensing circuitry capable of supporting single-phase 200–277VAC and three-phase 380–480VAC architectures.
Beyond energy management, the hardware is built for extreme operating conditions. Select models carry IP68 ingress protection against salt-spray corrosion and dust, while others feature ATEX gas-explosion-proof certification for hazardous sectors like petrochemical and pharmaceutical processing. Internally, the fans utilize SUNON’s proprietary MagLev motor technology and VAPO sleeve bearings to reduce mechanical friction and vibration. According to the company, these aerodynamic refinements and the shift toward high-voltage direct current compatibility are essential for clients aiming to maintain compliance as environmental regulations tighten across the industry.
