AGCO Scales Back Full-Year Outlook Amid Cautious Farm Equipment Demand
Agricultural machinery giant AGCO reported a 1% decline in second-quarter net sales to $2.6 billion, as farmers delayed equipment investments due to mounting macroeconomic uncertainty and elevated operating costs. The company is now recalibrating its annual targets, signaling a more conservative stance for the remainder of 2026.

CEO Eric Hansotia noted that producers are responding to shifting market dynamics with increased caution, prioritizing productivity while managing tight margins. To counter weaker industry conditions, AGCO is actively aligning production volumes with retail demand and maintaining strict discipline over operating expenses and inventory levels across its global dealer network.
While the company saw a significant 19.8% sales increase in North America—driven by high-horsepower tractors and hay tools—this was offset by sharp declines in Latin America, where sales dropped 25% on a constant currency basis. AGCO now projects full-year adjusted earnings per share between $5.50 and $5.75. Despite the near-term headwinds, the company remains committed to its 'Farmer-First' strategy, focusing on precision agriculture and technological innovation to sustain long-term value.
