RISION Debuts USB-C Thermal Cameras for Mobile Diagnostics

Priced at $139 and $299, the new RISION Magic and Magic Pro thermal cameras turn smartphones and tablets into precision inspection tools. By leveraging USB-C connectivity and AI-driven image fusion, the 24-gram modules allow users to identify hidden energy leaks, electrical faults, and overheating components without requiring external power sources.

The Magic series utilizes QuadIR super-resolution technology to effectively double pixel density, while AI BiSpectrix fusion overlays thermal data onto visible light images. This combination allows technicians and homeowners to pinpoint specific problem areas, such as gaps in insulation or faulty circuitry, with greater clarity. The RISION View app supports both mobile and desktop platforms, providing access to 12 color palettes and measurement tools without mandatory account registration.

The entry-level RISION Magic is housed in an aerospace-grade alloy casing measuring 60 by 42 by 10 millimeters, designed for frequent DIY use. For professional applications, the RISION Magic Pro offers advanced diagnostic features, including real-time waveform tracking and the ability to monitor up to five points, lines, and areas simultaneously. The Pro model also supports automated PDF report generation, making it suitable for HVAC diagnostics and complex electrical-panel analysis.

CEO York Guo stated that the series aims to mitigate costly failures by making high-fidelity thermal data accessible for everyday maintenance workflows. Pre-orders for the standard model are currently live on the company's website at an early-bird price of $119, with retail availability slated for late August. The Pro model follows in late September, with both devices featuring an extended three-year warranty for early purchasers.
