Gates Industrial Reports Progress on Emissions and Safety Goals
Denver-based Gates Industrial Corporation has surpassed its 2020 greenhouse gas reduction targets, cutting Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 16% against a 2019 baseline. The manufacturer's 2025 Sustainability Report details a broader strategy focused on governance, technological innovation, and improved workplace safety metrics across its global operations.
CEO Ivo Jurek emphasized that the company is embedding sustainability into its core organizational structure to drive long-term value. This shift is reflected in the firm's recent operational data, which shows a 4% reduction in total energy consumption over the past year. Beyond environmental benchmarks, the company secured 67 new patents in 2025, prioritizing the development of engineered solutions aimed at higher resource efficiency and component durability.
Safety performance also saw a significant uptick during the reporting period. Gates recorded a 25% drop in its Total Recordable Incident Rate, alongside a 33% reduction in severe injuries compared to 2024 figures.
