NEDHSA Launches Research Institute to Drive Regional Health Innovation
The Northeast Delta Human Services Authority has officially established the Evidence to Practice Research Institute, a new division tasked with applying data-driven insights to behavioral health, addiction recovery, and developmental disability services across Northeast Louisiana to ensure regional programs remain grounded in measurable, real-world outcomes.
The Institute functions as the primary research and innovation hub for the agency, evolving from the foundational work previously handled by the NEDHSA Analytics Department. Under the direction of Executive Director Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic research and community application. By integrating data analytics with strategic partnerships, the agency intends to refine its existing services while designing pilot programs tailored to the specific social and health challenges of the region.
Key priorities involve conducting applied research on trauma, maternal health, and social determinants of health, alongside a new regional Grand Rounds training initiative for workforce development. The Institute will also focus on securing diverse funding streams and strengthening data systems to ensure transparency and accountability. According to Dr. Sizer, this expansion represents a long-term commitment to regional vitality, transforming the agency into a hub for evidence-based care that supports emotional, physical, and economic stability for Louisiana residents.
