The consolidation integrates American Military University, American Public University, Rasmussen University, and Hondros College of Nursing under one administrative umbrella. To lead this transition, the newly formed Board of Trustees has appointed Angela Selden as Chancellor. Selden, who remains President and CEO of American Public Education, Inc., will guide the organization as it aligns the missions of its constituent schools.

The restructuring has secured full approval from the Higher Learning Commission and the U.S. Department of Education, ensuring that federal student financial aid programs remain uninterrupted across all campuses. Dr. Michelle Newman has been named the system's first Chief Academic Officer to oversee the scholarly integration of the four units. The governing board, chaired by Matthew A. Yale, includes representatives from the previously separate institutional boards, signaling a unified approach to governance as the system seeks to expand its reach in distance and professional education.
