HeartNexus Expands Telecardiology Reach Using Studycast Platform

A 50% surge in study volume over five years has defined the growth of HeartNexus, a telecardiology network now operating across 46 states. By utilizing the Studycast cloud platform as its primary operational backbone, the organization connects more than 70 board-certified cardiologists with underserved rural and correctional facilities nationwide.

Founded by Dr. Robert Beto, HeartNexus addresses a critical gap in the U.S. healthcare system, where nearly half of all counties lack a practicing cardiologist. By operating entirely as a remote network rather than maintaining physical clinics, the group delivers rapid diagnostic support to facilities ranging from small rural outposts to large hospital systems. The integration of Studycast allows every physician in the network to utilize identical measurement and calibration tools, ensuring that diagnostic reports remain consistent regardless of the specialist’s location or background.

This standardization has yielded significant operational gains. The network reports a 30–40% reduction in turnaround times, with most completed reports returned to partner facilities within 24 hours. Furthermore, HeartNexus has scaled its reach without the need for additional administrative staff, facilitating the onboarding of new sites in as little as one to two weeks. As the network continues to expand, leadership is now exploring the integration of cardiac CT imaging into the platform to further bridge the care gap in underserved markets.
