Rockstar Sets August Date for Extended GTA VI Preview
A decade after the release of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games has scheduled an extended look at its successor for August 27. The preview will debut via a 3PM ET premiere for Netflix subscribers, followed by a wider YouTube stream at 9PM ET, marking a strategic collaboration between the two companies.

Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s VP of Nonfiction Series, emphasized the unprecedented anticipation surrounding the title, noting that the partnership aims to bring this next chapter to Netflix members first. While specific content remains under wraps, the announcement signals a significant step forward for a project that has been in development since at least 2022.
The pressure on this release is substantial, given the longevity of its predecessor. Grand Theft Auto V has moved nearly 230 million units since its debut, maintaining a dominant presence on platforms like Steam and Twitch across three console generations. Following a series of gameplay leaks and two official trailers released between 2023 and 2024, this upcoming preview represents the most significant update yet in the studio's long-awaited rollout.
