MDA Space Adds Manufacturing and Satellite Veterans to Board

As the global space industry accelerates, Toronto-based MDA Space has appointed John Farrell and Stephen Spengler to its Board of Directors. The move brings four decades of manufacturing oversight and satellite telecommunications leadership to the company as it seeks to scale its infrastructure and global operations.

Farrell, currently serving as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Magna International, brings deep expertise in scaling manufacturing footprints across 320 global facilities. His background in digital transformation and smart automation is expected to bolster MDA Space's production capabilities. A professional engineer, Farrell has spent over 30 years at Magna, managing complex industrial segments.

Spengler joins the board with extensive experience in the satellite sector, having previously served as CEO of Intelsat SA. During his tenure there, he oversaw a massive integrated network serving 1,700 business customers across 200 countries. At MDA Space, Spengler will bring his background in broadband and mobility to the Audit Committee. Brendan Paddick, Chair of the Board, noted that these appointments are intended to strengthen the company’s long-term strategy as it navigates a pivotal growth phase.
