Brugal Completes Colección Visionaria Series with Coconut Edition
Fifth-generation Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana has unveiled the final chapter of Brugal’s limited-edition series, Colección Visionaria Edición 03. By integrating Dominican coconuts into the brand's signature Aromatic Cask Toasting process, the release concludes a three-part exploration of the island's cultural heritage and natural abundance.
The new expression serves as a tribute to the Dominican Republic, where the coconut is deeply woven into the local rhythm and gastronomy. Villanueva Quintana selected the ingredient to evoke the warmth of the island’s landscape, from its coastal palm trees to the everyday rituals of its people. The rum is crafted using the same innovative toasting technique that defined the previous two editions, pairing Dominican coconuts with French oak casks to produce a complex, tropical character.
Technically, the spirit is bottled at 45% ABV and features a palate defined by coconut water, vanilla, and caramel, balanced by smoky, woody undertones. The presentation remains consistent with the collection’s aesthetic, featuring Brugal’s iconic protective netting, here rendered in navy blue. Each of the fewer than 35,000 bottles produced is signed by hand by Villanueva Quintana and marked with its specific batch number. The edition will be available at select retailers for $69.99, marking the definitive end of the Colección Visionaria project.
