Luminar Capital Secures $5 Million Credit Line for SMB Lending
Miami-based Luminar Capital has finalized a $5 million senior secured credit facility with an institutional lender, a move designed to bolster its lending capacity for small and mid-sized businesses. The agreement includes a provision to increase the total financing to $15 million as the firm's loan portfolio expands.

The capital injection allows Luminar to scale its core offerings, including revenue-based financing, term loans, and its multi-draw "Luminar Line" product. Founder and CEO Misha Mikhaylov noted that the funding follows an extensive diligence process by the institutional partner, evaluating the company’s portfolio performance and servicing infrastructure.
By securing this institutional backing, the firm aims to meet rising demand for alternative capital while maintaining its digital-first underwriting model. Mikhaylov, who previously managed hedge fund portfolios, emphasized that the new resources are intended to bridge the gap between institutional scale and the need for rapid, transparent decision-making for business operators. The company plans to use the proceeds to deepen support for its national network of referral partners and ISOs.
