Brock Heger Secures Historic Vegas-to-Reno Victory for Polaris
Seven hours, 51 minutes, and 29 seconds of high-speed desert racing finally yielded a trophy that had long eluded the Polaris RZR Factory Racing team. By navigating the reversed 505-mile course ahead of the UTV field, Brock Heger captured the team’s first-ever Vegas-to-Reno overall win in the event's 30-year history.
The victory was defined by Heger’s performance in the No. T96 RZR Pro R Factory, which crossed the finish line seventh overall among all four-wheeled vehicles. This placement put the UTV ahead of most Unlimited Trophy Trucks—machines that typically dominate the field with significantly higher horsepower. Heger established his lead early, stretching his advantage to over eight minutes at one point despite the punishing heat and rocky terrain characteristic of the Nevada desert.
Ethan Groom added to the team’s success by piloting his No. T74 RZR Pro R Factory to a fifth-place finish in the UTV Pro class. With Polaris vehicles securing six of the top-ten spots in the category, the result serves as a benchmark for the platform's durability in long-distance competition. Alex Scheuerell, Polaris’ Director of Off-Road Motorsports, noted that the ability to contend with the faster Unlimited class highlights both the driver's capability and the team's preparation. The squad now turns its attention to the SCORE Desert Series, with the Baja 400 scheduled for September 8–13.
