Kennametal Expands Board With Aerospace and Materials Industry Veterans

Kennametal Inc. has appointed Dawne S. Hickton and Richard J. Harshman to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. The move brings high-level executive experience from the aerospace, defense, and specialty materials sectors to the Pittsburgh-based industrial technology firm as it seeks to bolster its long-term market strategy.

Hickton currently leads Cumberland Additive, Inc., a firm specializing in additive manufacturing for the defense and space industries. Her background includes a tenure as executive vice president at Jacobs and leadership roles at RTI International Metals, Inc. She brings significant governance experience, having served on the boards of Commercial Metals Company and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

Harshman offers over four decades of operational and financial expertise, primarily from his career at ATI, Inc., where he served as chairman, president, and CEO until 2018. He currently holds board positions at PNC Financial Services Group Inc. and Ameren Corporation, focusing on audit, risk, and governance committee roles. Kennametal CEO Sanjay Chowbey stated that the dual appointment is intended to strengthen the company’s strategic execution and financial oversight as it manages its global industrial operations.
