HACR Marks 40 Years of Corporate Inclusion Advocacy
From October 19–21, 2026, the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility will host its 34th Annual Symposium and Inclusión Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis. The event marks four decades of the organization’s work to expand Hispanic representation in boardrooms and corporate leadership across the United States.
Founded in 1986 by a coalition of national Hispanic nonprofits, HACR emerged to hold corporations accountable for their hiring and procurement practices. Over the last four decades, the organization has evolved from a grassroots agreement into a research-backed entity that influences governance and philanthropy. Current initiatives include the HACR Research Institute and the Alliance for Board Diversity, which focus on embedding accountability into business strategy.
The 2026 milestone coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month and aims to bridge the gap between historical progress and future economic demands. CEO Cid Wilson characterized the anniversary as both a mandate and a platform to address emerging challenges, including artificial intelligence and workforce transformation. The symposium will gather C-suite executives and board directors to discuss how to accelerate representation in decision-making roles, shifting the focus from internal policy to measurable, long-term impact.
